The Egg Tree.

There were very many nests on the tree. Resembling small Manyattas, the nests hanged side by side almost like a homestead (read 'neststead'). With a similar design, each nest had its entrance from below. The total tally of all the eggs in all the nests was more than the total number of all the fruits on the tree. Actually, the birds feasted on the fruits before anyone else could notice them!

The garden owner has nicknamed this tree 'the egg tree- layers' haven' simply because he has harvested more eggs from the tree than its fruits!

One day, as he climbs down the tree with a basketful of eggs, his young son asks him, ''Dad, i didn't know eggs grow on trees!''
