Hiring.

An employer is an entrepreneur. He is the owner of a Money- making idea. He lodges himself somewhere within the economic activities of the day, grabs a niche, and sets up a "trap" strategically within the confines of the realtime circulation of money, so that he may be able to attract, and temporarily own a portion of the money zooming around. He calls that trap, his business.

He then realizes that he can not manage the trap alone. He needs a workforce to monitor it, maintain it, and basically, manage it. He needs people that will help him to convert his abstract ideas into solid results of a working plan. He wants to hire you!

He is not looking for outstanding academic qualifications or a fancy degree from a fancy school, No. In fact, he is oblivious of your level of theoretical education. He will be content with someone who is of sound mind and has a reasonable IQ.

He is not looking for a genius, or exceptionally brilliant minds. No! In fact, he doesn't even care what you know or are capable of doing with your brains. He only cares about what YOU can do for HIM.

In short, an employer normally searches for a team player. Someone who can work with others and aim at achieving the same goals. Someone who sees himself as a link of a chain between ends. Someone who will "stop" to think on himself and do what he's required to do by the business. Someone who will give up conflicting personal self interests in favor of the business that they're working for.

An ideal employee is someone who should be ready to lose his ego and submit to the fact that he is not the originator of the initial idea. He is in fact a hijacker who gets away with the crime. That should be the highlight of his humility before the employer. He should know that he is only just getting on board and that the only of his opinions that would matter are those that will be captured by the spirit of the original idea.

An ideal employee should know the objectives of the business. This will help him to identify himself with the rest of the team as they work together. It will also help him to pin-point any deviations that may emerge in the course of work. It will also help him to suggest improvements to further fine- tune the business operations. The employee does not therefore feel out of place and is able to identify himself with the business.

In turn the ideal employer adheres to the "PROCEED" Model of employee selection. (Kreitner & Mohapatra, Management, Edition 8, 2009. Biztantra). Here, the employer prepares the job description and analysis. Then he reviews interview questions, organizes the interview, conduct it, then evaluate the match between the job and the candidate, exchanges the data in a meeting, and finally makes a decision on the ideal candidate.

This in a nutshell, sums up the whole ballgame of employment testing between employer and employee.
